Confidence – What is it?
Confidence in simple words is the ability to handle situations with ease and calmness. In today’s youth somewhere, it has been noticed that many of us fail when faced with difficult situations and the reason for it is a mixture of panic and lack of knowledge. A confident person is known to perform better under stressful conditions. So, let us talk about how we can instill self-belief in an individual in different ways and situations.
How Lack of Confidence can affect Personality
An individual who lacks self-belief might face difficulty to succeed in their respective fields. As quoted by Helen Keller “Optimism is the faith that leads to Achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence”. In simple words, a confident person can achieve their goals much easier when compared to their counterparts. On the other side, an individual who lacks self-belief start doubting their ability which can spell disaster.
Skill versus Will
A skilled professional who lacks the will to do tasks will always be an underperformer. On the other hand, a person with strong willpower can cover up much of their skill issues with their positive outlook. Mark Twain once quoted “All you need in this Life is ignorance and confidence, and then success is sure”. Now, we can imagine what a skilled person can achieve with greater willpower and self-belief.
Assertiveness is a quality which can be achieved by being self-assured and without being overconfident. Confidence again has to be controlled as there is a thin line between confidence and overconfidence. Now, this is where MICE Education comes to the picture where our focus is to build assertive individuals who are confident in their knowledge and are ready to take on the competition heads on.
MICE Training modules are created after extensive studies of individual traits and character. We treat all students differently, we have to, as no two people are same in the way they think or communicate. Our trainers focus on how to improve an individual psychologically and emotionally. Other focus areas are to work on factors like shyness, insecurity & low self-esteem.
The Bottom line
An individual who possesses strong Confidence game can be a leader in any domain or field. If we take the example of leaders from across the world – the only factor that differentiates them to others is Confidence and Self-Belief. Colin Powell gave a powerful message on confidence which says “Leadership is solving problems. The day soldiers stop bring you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or conclude you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership”. The hidden message in this theory is if you lose confidence you not only lose yourself but others who look up to you.
And on the positive note “When you have Confidence you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do Amazing Things”.
